There are three types of Hardware: 1. CPU - Central Processing Unit 2. Input/Output Devices - Keyboard, Printer, Mouse, etc. 3. Memory These are the basics of Hardware. However, there are also different parts to a CPU.
Parts of a CPU: CU: (Control Unit), Communicates with computer circuits and co-ordinates their actions. ALU: (Arithmetic/Logic Unit), Executes program instructions. Storage Register: Serve as locations to hold values with which the ALU is working. Accumulator: Collects the results of any calculations perfomed. Address Register: Stores the location of information.
